 Source:People's daily Beijing On August 20, Juan Carlos Salazar, the new General Secretary of ICAO, held a video conference with the director of civil aviation in the Asia Pacific region. Civil aviation officials from 21 countries and regions, including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and Nepal, delivered speeches on epidemic prevention and control, industry recovery, aviation safety and security. Cui Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said the restart and recovery of the aviation industry requires the joint efforts of all countries. China is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with other countries under the framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and accelerate the recovery and development of global civil aviation.

 
Salazar said the COVID - 19 outbreak is the biggest crisis and challenge facing the international civil aviation history. ICAO has always been committed to uniting the Member States and the aviation industry, making unremitting efforts to ensure the sustainable development of global civil aviation security and promote the recovery of the global aviation industry. Salazar spoke highly of the achievements made by civil aviation of China in epidemic prevention and control and recovery and development, and thanked civil aviation of China for actively participating in and supporting the work of ICAO. 
 
Cui Xiaofeng pointed out that COVID - 19 outbreak has seriously affected the world air transport system. The ICAO has taken swift action to innovate its working methods, leading countries to cope with risks and challenges, and fully demonstrate international leadership. CAAC has taken effective measures to curb COVID-19's spread through aviation channels, help enterprises to rescue, ensure aviation safety and stability of international freight supply chain, and actively participate in the "restart" and "recovery" activities of the international civil aviation organization, sharing the experience and best practices of epidemic prevention and control.
 
He said:"The restart and recovery of the aviation industry needs the efforts of all countries. China is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all countries under the framework of ICAO and accelerate the recovery and development of global civil aviation."
