During the National Day holiday in 2021, China's civil aviation operations were generally safe and stable. From October 1stto 7th, nearly 9.3 million passengers were transported, with the on-time flight rate exceeding 93%. Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai，Xi’an and other places are popular destinations for tourists.
According to statistics, during the National Day holiday (From October 1st to 7th), 9.291,400 passengers were transported by air, with an average of 1.327 million passengers per day, down 19.6 percent from 2020. The average load factor was 73.7 percent, down 4.8 percentage points from 2020. There were 90,663 actual flights nationwide, with an average of 12,952 flights per day, down 11.27 percent from 2020. The on-time flight rate was 93.35 percent, 1.42 percentage points lower than in 2020.
From the distribution of passenger travel dates, September 30th to October 1st is the peak of pre-holiday travel, and the number of passengers is more than 1.5 million for two consecutive days. From October 2nd to 4th, the number of passengers drops, the number of passengers starts to rise on October 5th, and reaches the return peak on October 7th. In terms of outbound tourists, the outbound tourists of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Xi 'an, Kunming and Hangzhou rank first in China in the peak period of travel, and the outbound tourists of Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi 'an, Beijing, Kunming, Hangzhou and Shanghai rank first in China in the peak period of return. From the load factors, rush in Lhasa, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang, Urumqi, Haikou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xishuangbanna with higher average load factor of departures, return peak of Luoyang, Beihai, Dunhuang, Lijiang, Jiuzhaigou, Zhangjiajie, Lanzhou, Sanya, Haikou, Chengdu with higher average load factors of outbound flights. Due to the recent epidemic in some regions in China, the number of inbound and outbound passengers and the passenger load factor in most tourist cities during the holiday were slightly lower than the same period of last year.
During the National Day holiday of 2021, all civil aviation units will strictly implement the general deployment and series of specific requirements of the Civil Aviation Administration of China on holiday transportation, increase the capacity of hot air routes, and continue to earnestly implement joint prevention and control arrangements to ensure the safety and smooth travel of passengers.
