[Reprinted from the official site of China general aviation] On September 18, the Civil aviation administration (CAAC) held a monthly news conference, where the principal of CAAC gave an introduction on the safety production operation of civil aviation, the speeding-up infrastructure construction and the application and achievement of new civil aviation technologies.

In August, civil aviation achieved 93.7 million hours of transport flights, with a year-on-year growth of 10.1% and 70,000 hours of general aviation flights, with an increase of 9.3%. From January till August, the civil aviation industry realized 6.968 million hours of transport flights, 522,000 hours of navigation, which marked a 11.3% and 2.8% increase over the same period of last year respectively.

By the end of July this year, the number of transport airports of civil aviation in China reached 225, general aviation airports – 310.

In recent years, under the support and guidance of relevant state departments, CAAC focuses on the launch of "Beidou air navigation application demonstration" project, actively coordinating with all parties inside and outside the industry including navigation companies, equipment manufacturers, research institutes and others, to promote the Beidou system in general aviation applications.
